In addition to general optometry, Dr. Johnson has particular
interest in Vision Therapy, especially in relation to children. He is a
Fellow in the College of Optometrists in Vision Development
(COVD), the inter-national certifying board for doctors who
specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of vision-based learning
problems, including strabismus, and amblyopia for children and
adults.
Vision therapy is a highly effective non-surgical treatment for
many common visual problems including amblyopia, strabismus,
double vision, convergence insufficiency and some reading and
learning disabilities. Many patients who have been told their eyes
are healthy and see "20/20" have benefited from vision therapy.
